Cesc Fabregas has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will be leaving Chelsea as well as English football this month.

The Spaniard is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer but is being linked with a move to Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco where he’d be coached by former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.

In addition, former Blues Technical Director Michael Emenalo is said to be one of the key influences behind the deal having taken up the role of Sporting Director after leaving Stamford Bridge.

Having struggled for game time under Maurizio Sarri this season following the signing of Jorginho in the summer, it would appear that Fabregas’ decision is down playing regularly.

And his farewell tour has already begun.

After coming on as a substitute in the goalless draw with Southampton on Wednesday night – his 500th match in English football across all competitions – the midfielder took to Twitter and posted a message to Blues as well as Arsenal supporters which indicates he will be on his way out very soon.

The post reads: “500 games in English football, the best and most competitive football in the world, what a ride it has been!

“A proper dream come true to reach these numbers.

“Another proud moment in my career. I will see you all at the Bridge on Saturday.”

Chelsea welcome Championship outfit Nottingham Forest to the Bridge in the third round of the FA Cup as Sarri looks to defend the trophy his predecessor Antonio Conte won last season. It was also the first piece of silverware Fabregas won in England as he was apart of the Gunners team which beat Manchester United on penalties in the 2005 final.
