Most parents have today filled book stores and uniform centers in order to obtain the necessary books and uniforms as the students are respected to start reporting back to school from Thursday.
But going to the shops in order to secure this last minute requirements , the parents were greeted to utter shock as the price of those important items have hiked.
Most parents are complaining about the many shops increasing the prices of all the items required by their childern as they prepare to report back to school.
This is not the first time that this scenario is happening. It is a norm in Kenya that when schools are about to open the shops selling the important requirements for the return of school hike the prices.
Some parents are even urging the government to put a control price on most of these items to prevent mwananchi from being overcharged. This overcharging have forced some students to even report late to schools due to some parents not being able to raise the amount required to purchase important school items.
This comes as the teachers strike still remain unclear despite the TSC issuing the order to parents to take their children to school from tomorrow.
Also another confusion is the new curriculum which its implementation remains unclear.
