Two Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers sustained injuries during the gun fight that left seven Al-shabaab militants dead after a shootout in Southern Somalia.
According to a statement by KDF’s public affairs office, the officers also seize 9 AK 47 rifles, 10 magazines, 2 rocket propelled grenade launchers and three grenades.
The statement further revealed that the incident took place at 11am at a location along Tabda-Delahola route.
“Today at around 11am, KDF soldiers operating under AMISOM engaged Al-Shabaab militants at a location along Tabda-Delahola supply route,” read the statement.
Speaking over the conquest, KDF Spokesman P.M. Njuguna stated that the soldiers would relentlessly carry on with the fight until peace was restored in Kenya as well as Somalia.
