Manchester United hope to make it four wins out of four for new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer against Newcastle today.
And they will be boosted by the return of Chilean frontman Alexis Sanchez for the St James’ Park clash.
Eric Bailly is banned for United’s Premier League trip up to the north east, but Sanchez is pushing to feature for the first time since November.
Bailly begins a three-match ban after being sent off against Bournemouth, while fellow centre-backs Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo are absent through injury.
Matteo Darmian will be the back-up to Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones.
Sanchez is back training after a hamstring injury and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed he will be involved in the north-east.
Sanchez has been very active on Instagram recently and has posted a number of videos showing him training hard in his attempts to get back to match fitness.
Solskjaer discussed the former Arsenal man in a recent press conference, and admitted he was impressed by his workaholic attitude.
“Alexis is back,” Solskjaer said. “He flew in on, I can’t remember what day it was, but he’s had two days of good fitness work, hopefully he can join in training with the ball as soon as we get back [to Carrington].
“Probably definitely involved at Newcastle.”
The caretaker United boss expects Marcus Rashford to be available despite limping off on Sunday.
