Senior Counsel Tom Ojienda is the latest high profile person to find himself crossing paths with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution and will spend the weekend behind bars.
This has however not gone down with senior lawyers led by the Law Society of Kenya with Kipchumba Murkomen taking on twitter to ‘shame’ the style.
I am totally opposed to this madness of deliberately arresting suspects on Friday. It’s even worse that they are arresting lawyers for providing professional services.Surely Professor Ojienda is a Senior Lawyer&JSC member, where is he expected to run to?Rule of Law ????

These sentiments were quickly supported by fellow lawyer and another senior counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi insisting that the process is wrong and should not be implemented forthwith.
Here I agree with the Senator…just inform a suspect and tell him/her to report to court on a given date to take a plea… https://t.co/BVIxQsfA4g

Kenyans could howeber hear none of that and came out guns blazing insisting that Haji was on the right track and should continue with his work without interference from anyone.
So Lawyers don’t break the Law? We are okay with the arrests because there is little suspects can do to defeat Justice while in custody.
The Cancer of corruption has its tentacles in all institutions including JSC.
No turning back!

Rule of Law was Suspended when NASArites called for electoral justice and respect for Rule of Law… but the regime you support has since then steadily rendered the law and Judiciary weak.. in as much as we support diff political ideologies .. lets be patriots first.
