On Friday night, President Uhuru Kenyatta held a roundtable interview with journalists from leading TV stations in the Country.
During the interview that was held from statehouse Mombasa, the President addressed the state of the nation, his plan to leave a legacy being among the debated issues.
The President expressed optimism on the success of the war against corruption and the ‘Big Four’ agenda.
He urged the Judiciary to ensure its independence is not compromised and that corruption cases are determined quickly.
“I am not dictating to them. Judiciary must be active. They should hear cases before them expeditiously and independently. It is their business to determine if suspects are guilty,” he said.
He however differed with some journalists on several issues, among them the National debt. He differed with NTV’s Mark Masai when he used Japan as a comparison to the issue of national debt.

However, from the interview, blogger Robert Alai seems not to have been contented. He has termed yesterday’s interview as a joke.
He has hence called for one on one interview with President Kenyatta, which he has noted that it should be live on TV.
I need to have a one on one with President Uhuru. One on one which will be live on TV. Hiyo ya jana was a joke. #PresidentialRoundTableKE

The blogger has on several occasions criticised the government, especially on graft issues. Do you support a one on one engagement between Robert Alai and President Kenyatta?
