Jamie Redknapp Disagrees With Paul Pogba Claims After Huddersfield Showing |

Manchester United star Pogba was the star of the show against Huddersfield on Boxing Day, scoring a stunning brace to propel the Red Devils to all three points.

It has been a tricky season for the France international, who was regularly dropped by former Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho.

But Manchester United are finally beginning to see the best of the World Cup winner under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Against Cardiff at the weekend, Paul Pogba played a key role as his side cruised to victory, weighing in with two assists in Wales.

And he stepped it up against Huddersfield on Boxing Day, scoring twice after Nemanja Matic had given United the lead.

Pogba has been tipped to leave the club for Barcelona and Juventus.

But Redknapp disagrees with those calling for the 25-year-old to leave.

The former Premier League star told the Daily Mail: “Is anyone surprised that Paul Pogba looks a different player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

“Pogba has been criticised more than any other this season.

“Some have argued that Manchester United should sell him but there aren’t too many like him.

“The last two games have shown that if you give him the freedom to get forward he will create goals, score them and dictate games.

“United’s next huge clash is Tottenham away on January 13.

“His challenge now is to play this way against the best.”

Pogba was praised by United boss Solskjaer after his fine Huddersfield showing.

“That’s the Paul I know, the Paul I have known since he was in the reserves and in the youth team,” he said.

“He’s always been a happy boy, he’s always had a big smile on his face and when you score a goal, or if you score two, of course you’re happy.

“And when you play football for Manchester United you should be happy.

“Of course it’s a responsibility but it’s an honour and a privilege.

“Paul loves playing for this club. He’s a Man United boy through and through. He’s a kid that knows what it means to play for Man United.”
