Why Chelsea star is likely to stay despite being unhappy

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is unlikely to leave the club next month despite being unhappy at the club but the Blues should be worried about his reported unhappiness at the club.

That is the opinion of Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

Following Maurizio Sarri’s decision to drop Christensen in place of David Luiz this season, talks of a move away from Stamford Bridge for the former Brondby man have surfaced.

However, Sheth doesn’t see him leaving Stamford Bridge in the near future, something he believes the player has also resigned himself to.

He said on the latest episode of the Transfer Talk podcast: “Andreas Christensen was a regular under Antonio Conte. Remember Conte kind of froze out David Luiz and brought Christensen in.

“Now it’s flipped. David Luiz seems to be flavour of the month as far as Sarri is concerned and Christensen isn’t getting a game.

“He’s obviously not happy and he’s made it clear that he’s not happy – but he doesn’t expect Chelsea to sell him this month.”
