Manchester United Closing In On Roma’s Kostas Manolas

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on Roma star Kostas Manolas as they attempt to fix their defensive woes.

The Greek international is considered to be amongst the best in Europe in his position and could be available for peanuts.

United have seen a change in management with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer coming in for Jose Mourinho as caretaker until the summer.

However, that doesn’t appear to have stopped the desire to sign Manolas, particularly since they’ve been given a recent boost.

If Solskjaer is to succeed where Mourinho failed this season then it’s certainly to tighten up the defence and rid it of its errors.

ccording to Plymouth Herald, Tutto Mercato report that the Red Devils can sign Kostas for his €36m release clause in the summer which has been aided by the change in agents that now sees him under Mino Raiola who is also Paul Pogba’s agent.

It doesn’t seem as though the centre-back is available for the winter but perhaps he could be persuaded to join nonetheless.

Roma have been struggling even worse than Manchester United this season as they find themselves in tenth place.

Even if Ole isn’t capable of reaching the top four, he could still offer Manolas Europa League football which is better than nothing.
