Mysterious death of West Yimbo chief in guest house

Police in Bondo are investigating the death of a chief whose body was found in a guest house Sunday afternoon.

The body of West Yimbo chief Daniel Tiang’ is reported to have been found hours after he checked in.

“He checked in at around noon. He said he was not feeling well and needed to rest,” said a source at the guesthouse.The source said they got suspicious when they realised the door to his room remained open long after Tiang’ had checked in.

“We decided to find out what had happened only to realise he was dead. We alerted the police who collected the body,” the source said.County Commissioner Michael ole Tialal said they had begun investigating the incident.

Leakey Abuoro, a family member, said foam and blood oozed from Tiang’s mouth. “We highly suspect he was poisoned,” he said.

This follows news of a female security guard who was on Monday found murdered and her body dumped by in a ditch in Limuru town.

Limuru MP Peter Mwathi and Limuru Central MCA Joseph Kahenya asked the police to heighten patrols in the area.

“Intensity day and night police patrols so as to keep away robbers and in the process, arrest all criminals,” Mwathi said.

The OCPD urged residents to share information on matters insecurity, promising to act fast and prevent the crimes.
