Arsenal boss reacts on Lacazette anger after being substituted

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has lauded his talisman Alexandre Lacazette for his angry reaction after being subbed off in the 3-1 win over Burnley on Saturday 22nd December.

The Frenchman was replaced by Alex Iwobi in the 78th minute as the Nigerian forward went on to put the game to bed by notching in the third goal.

Lacazette was furious after being withdrawn as he made his way to the bench, argued with Mohamed Elneny and threw his gloves to the floor. The game ensured Arsenal returned to winning ways after losing to Southampton the previous weekend and to arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a mid-week Carabao Cup fixture.

Emery lauded Lacazette after the win, noting that he was hungry for victory, “I think he was happy with our victory. He wants to score and when a striker doesn’t score, I like it if he is angry with this situation. But he worked very well today. For me, the last match was the best he has played. I think he is coming back to the best Lacazette to help us.”
