Pep reacts to the loss the shocking defeat to Palace

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has lamented his side’s defensive errors after Saturday’s shock 2-3 loss against Crystal Palace at the Etihad – their first home defeat of the season.

Speaking after the match, the Spaniard singled out Kyle Walker for gifting the away side a penalty that proved to be the match winner.

“We cannot concede the penalty we conceded, we have to try and avoid it.

“We had just made some changes and decided to play with two strikers to try to get back in the game, then straight away we give away a penalty and a third goal.” The Spaniard said of Walker’s rash challenge on Max Meyer.

“Footballers do good things and bad things but everyone else is involved too, those at the front as well as at the back. We created enough chances to win the game, in the first half especially.” He added

City’s slip up allowed Liverpool to extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.
