Alex Iwobi teammate at Arsenal Sead Kolasinac, believes that the club’s head coach Unai Emery’s lengthy video analysis sessions have helped him and the entire team become better players. The 25-year-old is hoping to overcome a thigh injury for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Burnley as the Gunners seek to put two successive defeats behind them.
Emery is known to work assiduously with Nacsport software, designed to help produce tailored video content aimed at giving players specific breakdowns of their individual performances — a trait which led former Sevilla winger Joaquin to once claim: “Emery put on so many videos, I ran out of popcorn!” But Kolasinac believes the detailed advice has been a key part of his progression this season.
“He’s helped me a lot,” said the Bosnian defender. “We do a lot of tactical work as a unit and also individually. That helps you a lot and what has helped me is that he is a manager who speaks to you often, telling you what he wants from you — and what he doesn’t want.
“Sometimes after a game, you’ll feel you’ve played well when you come to training the next day and he’ll prepare a video showing what you did well but also the areas where you can improve, which you may not notice yourself because of how quickly things happen on the pitch during a match. On the video, he’ll point out to you what you need to improve and how you can deal with situations better.
“That helps you reduce mistakes, not just in my position, but all over the pitch.
