Fresh Details Emerge about the Deadly Kaburengu Accident that claimed 11 Lives

11 people perished in a grisly road accident, on Friday evening, after a petrol tanker collided with a matatu ferrying passengers along Webuye-Eldoret highway in Kakamega County.

Bungoma County Police Commander, Francis Sang, noted that the horrific accident might have come about after the tanker’s breaks failed. Among those who died were drivers from both vehicles and a pedestrian.

The accident happened at Kaburengu area along the highway. The tanker reportedly spilled petrol on the road prompting firefighters from the county to move in.

Fatal accidents have been on the rise despite the re-introduction of Michuki rules two months ago to contain them. On Friday morning, a prado rammed into popular 1824 club’s entrance in Nairobi and reportedly killed three revelers while injuring several others.

The car reportedly lost control and rammed into the revelers and traders at the club. On Thursday, one person perished and several others were injured in an accident that involved a bus and a tanker along Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

According to Nakuru OCPD Samuel Obara, the two vehicles collided head at Ngata area causing a huge traffic snarl up.
