Tracing back the routes? Sonko appears in Eastlands dreaded like a goon(Watch Video)

Following the demolition of buildings  that has been going on in Nairobi’s Eastlands areas, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Thursday went to appeal to the Eastlands residents. They do say that when you get to the Romans, do what the Romans do, and Sonko seems to have gotten this right!

While notifying the residents of an order to suspend the demolitions, the Nairobi boss dressed up like an Eastlands resident, putting up dread logs on his head.

He then assured them of pursuing the matter in Court and ensure that the victims of the demolitions, which he termed as inhumane act, get justice and competition.

A statement on his facebook page read, “I have today issued orders to stop demolition of buildings in Eastlands area especially in Kayole estate where a private developer has used fake title deeds to get eviction notices from our courts. I will pursue the matter in court and ensure the victims of this inhumane act get justice and compensation.”

The demolitions started shortly after Kenya Power and Lightening Company gave a notice of bringing down the homes believed to have been built on their land. The court had issued them with an order allowing them to go ahead with the demolitions.
