Its sad to know how far a recent significant loss, such as a job, a relationship, or a loved one can push someone to. Unexpected pain combined with feelings of betrayal can sometimes drive one to the edge which could be the story of Lochale from Baringo
A man in Baringo has committed suicide after getting reports that his wife has been engaging in an extra-marital affair.
The lifeless body of Kokwon Lochale, 43 who was working as a private security guard in a local road construction company was found hanging on a tree near Bartabwa dam on Thursday morning.
“He had gone missing since Wednesday night after reportedly quarrelling with his wife, then we began the search only to find him dead,” a witness Isaac Chemormor said.
Lochale was a staff at Mattan Company currently working on the ongoing Kipsaraman-Bartabwa-Kinyach tarmac road.
He had just arrived home last week to spend the Christmas with his family.
Depression and suicide understandably go hand in hand, which means that for many people, suicide prevention is an integral part of dealing with depression.
While not every depressed person attempts or commits suicide, most people who kill themselves are dealing with depression.
“Ninety percent or more of people who kill themselves have a mental disorder before the time of their death,” says Paula Clayton, MD, medical director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in New York City. “Sixty percent have major depression. The link between depression and suicide is strong.”
