The truth behind Manchester United club-record signing Paul Pogba’s controversial social media post after the sacking of Jose Mourinho as manager has been revealed.

Pogba’s Instagram post ‘slamming Jose Mourinho’ was actually is said to be nothing more than a misunderstanding.

Less than 20 minutes after the Portuguese boss was shown the door, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner posted an image of himself smirking titled ‘caption this’, before it was deleted shortly after waves of uproar.

This after the player lost his place in the side under Mourinho over the past month, due to their fractious relationship that soured to such an extent that the former Juventus star was tipped for an exit in the upcoming transfer window.

A representative of Adidas told a journalist, as per The Mirror: “Pogba’s social media posts were a scheduled event, part of a marketing campaign.

“Immediately taken down once it became apparent that it could be misconstrued as disrespectful to Manchester United and José Mourinho.”
