What is your weekend plan?The greatest beach carnival festival dubbed “Isambo”on Lake Victoria is here with us. ‘Isambo’ which means celebration in the local Lunyala dialect of the Luhya language,targets both Kenyans and foreign visitors, to attend the festival.
Hundreds of people from Busia County are expected to participate in the cultural event, which is set to take place at Che’s Bay Lake Victoria this weekend.
The activities will include; boat races, beach boxing, beach wrestling, beach volley, athletics, football, beauty contests, tug-of-war and food competition.

Former Budalangi MP,Hon Ababu Namwamba is expected to attend the unique festival which aims at nurturing marine economy.
Isambo is a major event in the Abanyala calendar that aims at celebrating the community’s natural resources and culture.
Budalang’i has been associated with floods but the area has now been turned into an agricultural hub and a tourism attraction site thanks to Isambo Carnival festival.
