Tottenham warns Arsenal ahead of midweek face off

Tottenham Hotspur captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that they are ready for Arsenal in the midweek Carabao Cup clash.

The two London rivals will meet again at Emirates on Wednesday and Lloris hopes Spur win to revenge on the 4-2 loss in a league match last time out. The French goalkeeper admitted further that they were hurt by the loss then but they have had their motivation back before taking on the Gunners in the Cup tourney.

“Maybe the good thing is because we lost the Premier League game a few weeks ago, it’s even a little bit more motivation for us. There’s no more bad feeling than when you get a defeat. You always try to analyse and make things we will not repeat again. It’s another opportunity, and we will do our best to go through.

“Every game that you lose it hurts, but especially when you lead 2-1 and you lose 4-2. It’s true that Arsenal are playing very well this season, and they’re a difficult team to beat, but I think we have the quality to do it. It’s important to take every game seriously, whatever the competition is. Of course, there’s a priority in the season, but it’s a League Cup game and if you go through there’s a semifinal and there’s a good chance.” he told ESPN.

“And it’s a derby, it’s Arsenal, so it’s easier to prepare because there’s always excitement and enjoyment to play that type of game. It was a tricky game for us, especially after Barcelona. You have a bit less energy and you play with a bit less intensity.” he explained.

Arsenal lost to Southampton while Spurs worked hard for a 1-0 win in injury time over Burnley.
