How DP Ruto is using senate speaker to sweep western Kenya

The relationship between the Deputy President and the Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has grown to be cordial. Some people will definitely say that Ken Lusaka is DP Ruto errand boy.

The Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka has been accompanying the DP Ruto in various occasions in the western region especially where Ken Lusaka is enjoying massive support.

This comes as the Deputy President is trying to break into the western region to win the hearts of the people from that region.

The relationship between DP and senate speaker has enabled him to even get through to places he could not be welcomed.

Ken Lusaka who is the former Bungoma governor has used his influence to welcome DP Ruto especially in areas around Bungoma and Kitale.

They have capitalized on the funding of churches to win support from their believers. This has won the DP massive support in the region destabilizing the region which is calling for Unity.

The other luhya leaders such as Boni Khalwale has also pledeged his loyalty to the Deputy President. But his influence is not as much as powerful as the way Ken Lusaka has.

The DP intially was making use of the Cabinet Secretaries and other government officials to break into the region. Mr Eugene Wamalwa was vital in laying the ground, before Ken Lusaka came into to play.

This comes as other leaders from the region led by former ANC Leader Musalia Mydavadi , former Senator Moses Wetangula who have expressed their positions in terms of the succession politics each eyeing the state house.

Do you think DP Ruto’s invasion will shutter the regions’ ambition for presidency?
