Toby Alderweireld’s social media activity saw Manchester United fans get a little bit hot under the collar, as he dropped a hint that he wants to move to Old Trafford. The Tottenham Hotspur centre-back has long been linked with a transfer to Jose Mourinho’s side, and was frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino last season as he refused to sign a new deal.
He didn’t move on in the summer, with Mourinho left frustrated over United’s inability to sign a centre-half, and has started 14 times for Spurs in the Premier League this season. However, rumours linking him with United continue to persist and Alderweireld’s latest move on social media has added further fuel to the fire.
Responding to a question on Twitter asking which five players should Manchester United sign, a supporter suggested signing Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Leipzig’s Dayot Upemecano, Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, Alderweireld and Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben.
