It happened in Bungoma! Drama as Policeman who arrested a Probox ends up being abducted

2018 has been the year where policemen have received beatings left, right and center. But this is the first time we are hearing of a policeman being abducted and his gun stolen.

I mean, do we have such daring Kenyans? A traffic police officer was on Thursday bundled into a Probox in a strange turn of events at a traffic stop along a highway in Bungoma County. The officer’s gun was also stolen in the incident which took place in Misikhu area.

During the early morning incident, the officer who was conducting routine traffic along the Misikhu -Kamkuywa, was taken on a wild ride before being abandoned at a place known as Ndivisi in the same county.

He had arrested the driver who was in a company of two other people and ordered them to drive towards Webuye police station for booking.  After a short while, however, the suspects sped in a totally different direction disobeying the officer’s orders.

They took away his phone and pistol before throwing him out of the speeding car which they also dumped at Ndivisi centre and fled on foot. He is now nursing serious head injuries.

According to reports, authorities have launched a manhunt for the thugs who have not been identified yet.

In November, another police officer was abducted by a driver along Mumias-Bungoma road. The female officer, who sustained injuries, had been assigned to escort the vehicle to the station when the driver sped towards a different location.
