How DP Ruto smartly shuffled his cards to accompany the President to Nyanza

The President Uhuru Kenyatta has begun his two day long anticipated tour of Nyanza region. The visit is one of a kind as it marks the end of the long political enmity between the Kenyatta’s and the Odinga’s.

Nyanza has been the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga backyard defining his political superiority that he has enjoyed for quite a while now.

The Region has been in loggerheads with the President. But thanks to the handshake that everything is working out. The region is going to be latest beneficiary of Uhuru’s goodies as he has lined up a number of projects for the people, including the official launch of the Universal Health Care which is one of the Uhuru’s Big Four Agenda.

Back to the Deputy President William Ruto. His decision to join the President in the two day visit in the Region which have been sending bitter pills to him is the brightest idea.

The Deputy President calculated very well, any attempts to miss out would have been curse to his 2022 political ambition. He would have dug his 2022 political grave.

The politicians who do not agree with DP Ruto’s ideology would have used that opportunity to deconstruct him and gain other political mileages that would have ruined his ambition to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

But by accompanying him, was a sure bet as he will be part of the various projects that the President will be launching. This will act as a point of building his political image when he will go back begging for support from the people.

His appearance sends tension to those who would have spread negative propaganda.

Uhuru will open projects including commissioning of Ahero tarmac road, standard gauge railway project and a new Kisumu port.

Tomorrow, Raila and Uhuru will be awarded an honorary doctorate degree at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology.

Do you think it was the smartest thing for DP Ruto to do in efforts to cement his 2022 ambition?
