On July 2018 Justice Lesiit, found Ruth Kamande populary described as a ‘beauty’ at Lang’ata prison guilty of murdering her boyfriend, and sentenced her to death.
Kamande is said to have stabbed her boyfriend over a love text message sent by another woman.
According to the ruling made by the high court judge, Ruth acted out of malice despite claims that she did it out of self-defense.Justice Lessit ruled that the number of times she stabbed the boyfriend could not support her argument.
“It is clear from the prosecution evidence that the stabs were not done at ago. They were done in intervals,” ruled Lessit.
However a Nairobi based woman in her late 30’s might be the next state guest at the Langata women prison.
A party, jealousy occasioned by deep-rooted mistrust, a heated argument and a single stabbing to the left side of the chest were what it took to end the life of actor Jamal Nassul Gadafi in the early hours of Wednesday.
The former Vioja Mahakamani ‘judge’, according to police, met his death after a quarrel with his alleged ‘lover’.
The fight started after Mr Gadafi asked the woman why she had been dancing with and accepting drinks bought by men who attended the party she organised at Arks Hotel in Mlolongo, Machakos County.
The two, who had been in the relationship for only nine months, retreated to a nearby butchery to resolve their differences but rather than reach a solution, the disagreement turned violent.
The woman is said to have picked a kitchen knife and stabbed the 39-year-old actor, resulting in the heavy bleeding that led to his death.
The suspect will be taken for a mental exam and her file forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions before she is arraigned.
The officer said she told them that Mr Gadafi was a jealous man and showed them a thread of messages they they had sent each other.
The woman, however, denied killing Mr Gadafi and claimed he accidentally fell on the knife.
A friend of Mr Gadafi’s said the same and added that the relationship between the two had not been rosy and that they wrangled often.
The friend, who had been acting with Mr Gadafi, said he and the woman had dated for about a year.
He said the actor got separated from his wife so his family knew of the woman but did not recognise her.
“It is just a case of love gone sour. The woman was married and had grown up children but was not divorced. They had been having problems over Jamal’s lifestyle and how he related with other ladies,” the actor said
