President Kenyatta breathes fire on officials who abuse the state office

President Uhuru has today extended the war against corruption to Kenyans door step.

Kenyatta said that through the efforts of  investigative agencies and the office of the DPP individuals who may have thought they were untouchable are now facing the full force of the law.

He also added that he agrees that those individuals  deserve fair trial but nothing more than that.

The President sent a stern warning to state officials who are involved in abuse of office as he said that this time,the broom that is sweeping across the nation will soon find its way to their door steps.

The Head of state was speaking during the Jamhuri Day Celebration at the Nyayo National Stadium when he gave these remarks.

President Kenyatta also added that the fight against graft and drug lords should  be intensified and also urged the Judiciary not to be used to entrench impunity in Kenya.

“Our political class has to step up and focus on the people and on keeping them united by practicing politics of uniting Kenyans against our common enemy that is poverty, ignorance and disease” he said

Speaking in regard to the efforts of transforming Kenya from a nation of poverty to prosperity, the President said that it requires more than a single generation or one term or one set of leaders.

“We will not realise our vision for a better Kenya, for all Kenyans, unless we as a people work together to concur the monster of corruption; it is for this reason that we have deepened the war against corruption

We shall not allow Kenya to be a base of operation for drug lords and our resolve on this matter should not be tested” he stated

President Kenyatta in his closing remarks gave thanks to the unity between leaders despite the heightened differences during the campaigns and electioneering period.

“I’m very grateful to my brothers and sisters who we competed with last year but who have come together to work hand in hand with us to make Kenya prosperous led by my elder brother honorable Raila Odinga” he said
