Mertens was speaking ahead of Napoli’s 0-1 defeat to Liverpool in Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 31-year-old has netted 10 goals in just 12 starts for Naples but was unable to help his side progress to the round of 16 as they were knocked out by English side Liverpool.
Speaking to The Times, he said, “I love it here. But maybe in one year, I’m free, so maybe you never know, maybe Sarri is going to call me. We will see.”
“Sarri does not have an off button. I think he sleeps one hour a night and he is always thinking about football,” he added.
The Belgian’s current deal with Napoli expires in 2020.
