Video:Awaiting woes behind the anticipated Nyatiti Dance between Uhuru and Raila

The handshake between the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the President Uhuru Kenyatta re-shaped the Kenya political climate in the country.

The country was growing into an archaic state with different tribal communities only pledging allegiance to their communities. Their was a real political tension.

If you remember keenly before the swearing in of Raila as the people’s president the country was divided as some communities refusing to use the products which they considered to be from their political enemies.

But thanks to the handshake everything is healing.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to visit Nyanza region this week to launch the Universal Health Care programme but political analysts are already reading more into it.

Mutahi Ngunyi, through his YouTube channel The 5th Estate, stated that the country is witnessing the ‘healing of historic wounds’, making reference to a feud between Kenya’s founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

“Today, Uhuru and Raila are travelling to Bondo to make right the sins of their fathers…Uhuru is a greater man in this journey of forgiveness as he has climbed down for Raila and the Odinga family,” said Ngunyi.

He, however, warned that: “As Uhuru is healing the 1969 historical wounds with the Odinga family, he should not ignore the 2007 wounds with the Kalenjin nation.

“They are still fresh and about to run over because of Ruto (DP)… the 2007 wounds are about the GEMA nation and the Kalenjin nation.

Generally, the political analyst lauded Raila as clever in working his way up to being the ‘second in command’ despite having portrayed himself as a rebel.

Mutahi’s students also praised Ruto’s grit in fighting political dynasties, comparing his situation to that of a donkey that was pushed inside a well.

“…as the donkey cried for help, the farmer ignored it then suddenly the farmer started to bury it by shovelling soil into the well.

“Like Ruto, the donkey was clever…with every shovel of soil, the donkey would shake it off and take a step up.
