Corruption in Kenya has been a norm. Each and everyday in the corridors of the courts you can’t miss top government individuals being grilled for various corruption cases.
The extent of corruption cases in the government agencies is just at an extreme extent. Stealing huge sums of money in government offices has become a hobby. The government allocates a lot of money to run various development projects but the same money ends up in the pockets of few individuals who are thirsty and aim Hollywood type of lifestyles.
The bad thing is that when they are taken to our courts of law, nothing productive ever comes out their. Instead the court keeps on delaying justice until nothing happens.
But the latest right now is people raising up to defend their tribal members named in the corruption cases. This is the latest vice that is impeding the fight against corruption.
Kalenjin communities has been the victim of defending their tribal members named in corruption cases. In the recent corruption cases many of the members have been named and even presented in the courts to answer to the charges. The latest arrest is of the corruption at the Kenya Pipeline. The managing director Joe Sang among other top officials.

But what has made Kenyans rise up against the defense that has been mounted to defend tribal lines are comments from Nandi Senator Cherargei.

This defending of tribal lines comes as the President himself Uhuru Kenyatta has passed strict warning for those who are shaming his tenure by engaging in corruption cases. The same sentiments have been echoed by top leaders such as former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the opposition chief Musalia Mudavadi.

But the Kenyans are now saying enough is enough. They have rose to banish those leaders that defend the corrupt just because they are from their tribe.
Protests, demanding their release from
incarceration or their acquittal from criminal charges levelled against them has evolved into gradual
incitement of communities, which may ignite tribal clashes if not dealt with.#MtuWetuNonsense pic.twitter.com/lcpOh3Yfp1— Mwangi Francis ℹ (@its_MwangiF) December 11, 2018
Most have expressed their opinion that those defending the corrupt have vested interests they are trying to protect in order to evade some other hidden deals from being exposed.
Elected leaders should not take
corruption as lightly as they do. This is a matter with serious implications on all of us. They must stop perceiving corruption through the tribal lens. #MtuWetuNonsense pic.twitter.com/9ylDb5rsXg— Kevin Munyui (@ismunyui) December 11, 2018
This has been the trend where some people just rise up and take on the streets to defend the corrupt just because they speak the same language. It is happening all over Kenya.
Business in Narok town and at trading centres along the Narok-Mai Mahiu road was
paralysed as residents took to the streets to demand the immediate release of the then
Narok Senator Stephen ole Ntutu and four area MPs for alleged incitement. #MtuWetuNonsense pic.twitter.com/v9kU3uGVqu— Analyst (@Analyst_Ke) December 11, 2018
It is hard time that people wake up from that slumber land. The more we defend the corrupt the more they continue running dry the country.

The wake up call is now. Say no tribal lens. Use the real reasoning, let us defend our nation, our pride and our future.
