Confirmed! Man City’s midfielder David Silva out for three weeks

Manchester City have been hit by a number of injuries lately and that meant today they were without the likes of Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy in their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

De Bruyne and Kun are on their way back, but there were concerns when another key player, David Silva, was forced off clutching his hamstring in the 68th minute.

Losing Silva during such a busy period of fixtures could have a serious effect on City’s season, but there is some hope that it may not be too serious.

Speaking to City TV after today’s disappointment in London, youngster Phil Foden revealed that he has spoken to El Mago about the injury.

“I spoke to him at the end and he said he’s got a tight hamstring, so hopefully nothing too serious,” Foden said.

Now the  reigning Premier League Champions have confirmed that Silva willl be out for at  least three weeks.

Silva undewent tests from City’s medical staff and would appear to be a major doubt for Wednesday night’s Champions League game against Hoffenheim, which could see Foden himself get a rare start in Pep Guardiola’s XI.
