Chelsea to hand Hazard a new role at the club

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri insists he will use Eden Hazard as his team’s centre-forward again in the future after the Belgian impressed in the 2-0 win over Manchester City on Saturday.

Hazard provided the assists for N’Golo Kante and David Luiz goals as the Blues ended City’s unbeaten run in spectacular fashion and Sarri later praising the 27-year-old’s performance in the role.

“He had some problems at the beginning of the match, but I think he played really a very great second half. Maybe he deserved to score,” he said.

“I think it’s a very good option. We will play like today in the future for some matches of course.”

Sarri’s tactical decision to play Hazard as a striker meant Alvaro Morata was left out of the squad and Giroud started on the bench.

“The reason was clear. We played with Hazard as a striker, so if we have to change something there was Giroud.” He added

Hazard is Chelsea’s top scorer In the Premier League this season with seven goals and eight assists to his name after 15 games.

Is he fit for the role?
