Have you ever indulged in a strike? If you have then you can tell why protesters in Nigeria were extremely dissapointed when they recently took to the streets.
A coalition of over 200 groups under the aegis of the Forum of Non Government Organisations (FONGON), on Wednesday, stormed the United State of America (USA) Embassy in Nigeria to protest a purported granting of entry visa to former Vice-President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku in the forthcoming 2019 presidential election by US government.
It doesn’t matter that millions can’t feed and many more millions have lost their jobs under Buhari, let’s leave our houses, dress up, enter public transports and embark on a protest for the US to deny @atiku visa. That is more important. pic.twitter.com/lrJ6IIGcID

The protesters, who were dressed in uniform orange T shirts and faze caps, bore various placard with inscriptions such as “No issuance of politically motivated visa to Atiku,” “Nigerians say no to America’s interference in the nation’s politics,” among similar write-ups.
Atiku, who is also the 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had been accused of involvement in a bribery scandal for which an American Senator, William Jefferson, was jailed in 2009.
Leading the protesters, the National Convener of the Forum, Comrade Wole Badmus, argued that granting visa to Atiku on the eve of the 2019 presidential elections makes a mockery of United Nation’s Convention against corruption.
₦400m for impossible clearance to obtain an American Visa but Africans you hired for your rally, were worth ₦500 each.
You and your co travellers, who ruined our nation will never smell power again.

However sadly twitter users have marveled at the strike that apparently didn’t foresee the US Embassy close down due to George Bush’s funeral.
APC/Buhari supporters went to US Embassy Abuja to protest against Atiku’s visa not knowing the embassy was closed because of George Bush’s funeral ????? pic.twitter.com/wwvFOtdFC7

Apparently, the over 200 #Buharists that storms USA embassy to protest against @atiku visa request didn’t know that the embassy was closed for George H W Bush’s funeral.

Some of those people that went to besieged American embassy to protest Atiku’s visa will have an undergraduate in their families that is at home because of ASUU strike. They can’t protest because of that, the N2k they will collect is much important than good governance.
