First of is Men of Soul… Now if you’re a lover of some good live acoustic music then this is the ultimate gig for you. The event is brought to you by Noel Nderitu, Manasseh Shalom, Kato Change, Isaac Kimani and a special guest artist Lisa Noah Oduor.
Noel Nderitu is a Kenyan award-winning singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who won the award for the Best R&B Act at the Cafe Ngoma awards in 2017.
Kato Change is a charismatic and masterful guitarist who has played as the Lead guitarist in Tusker project fame season 6 and as the rhythm and lead guitarist in all 3 seasons of Coke Studio Africa. The guitar maestro has also played and recorded with great artists such as: Neyo, Salif Keita, Seun Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Fally Ipupa, Ice Prince, 2face idibia, Dave Douglas and Omar lye fook.
Manasseh Shalom who is a talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who started singing during his High school days. Manasseh is a performing and recording artist based in Nairobi whose style is described as an Afro-pop & Afro Jazz crossover.
Isaac Kimani is a Songwriter, Vocalist, Drummer, Bassist and Guitarist from Nairobi with one of the most soulful voices in the country.
Lisa Noah, a Kenyan silky-voiced artist with a lot of soul is back in the country after a 4-year scholarship at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. This is the first time in four years Lisa Noah will be singing live in Nairobi.
If you’ve had a long week and just want a night of good laughs and fun then Because You Said So! (BYSS) is the event for you. Founded by Jason Runo, Because You Said So! is an improv comedy show which involves getting a cast of improvisers to make up scenarios, skits and stories on the fly before a live audience.
The cast includes: founder, producer and business man Jason Runo, lawyer, singer and actress June Gachui, actor, writer, director & film blogger Mugambi Nthiga, Artist, Actor, DJ & MC Kevin Maina aka K1, Kenyan singer, songwriter, actress, radio and reality television personality Patricia Kihoro and finally comedian, script writer, TV commercial star Yafesi Musoke.
The 27th edition will also feature actor, comedian and TV host, Justin Karunguru.
The Nairobi Art & Beat Festival dubbed “The Movement” aims to “Support Creatives For A Sustainable Future” by giving them the hugest platform for talent awareness while running long term initiatives torwads this.
The event is a quarterly event for Kenyans and visitors to the country that provides a platform where they can see and celebrate local talent in all its genres. The event is also a platform for the artists, innovators and creatives to interact with all and earn from it.
The Art and Beat festival also doubles up as a charitable event aimed at supporting and raising awareness towards social progress with our focus on the youth alternative avenues of job employment.
