Na venye Waliponea! Gor Mahia’s Win over Nyasa Bullets sends Fans to Party Mode

It was a lucky escape for Gor Mahia as they advanced to the next round of the CAF Champions League after pipping Malawian side Nyasa Bullets on Post Match Penalties.

Gor needed the heroics of their veteran goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch who saved a penalty in the 88th minute to take the match to spot kicks. He went ahead and saved another penalty to ensure Sirkal is not dumped out of the competition in the first around.

The win brings back the smile, that has been missing from the fans’ faces in the past few weeks. First it was the painful departure of fan favorite coach Dylan Kerr that left most in shock.

With a Sirkal tattoo on his foot, Kerr wowed many fans with his simplicity and how he had settled at the club. He was on the touchline when Gor played EPL side at Goodison Park last month and most fans expected better things to come this season.

But Kerr shockingly resigned telling the club that he had taken over another job, South African side Leopards. It was later revealed that the coach had been subjected to very difficult living conditions by the club’s management.

Things were worse on the pitch, they needed an injury time goal to overcome Nyasa Bullets in the first leg last week. They were however not lucky in the KPL super-cup where they lost 0-1 to a youthful Kariobangi Sharks side.

Advancing to the next round of the competition is therefore a big achievement and the fans are making it known:
