Coastal MPs Throng Raila’s Yard to Plead On their Compatriots Behalf

ODM Party has of late displayed that it does not condone indiscipline and rebellion among it’s members. The Party has demonstrated that it is so determined to stamp it’s authority on members despite what they think or feel on the same.

ODM’s disciplinary committee yesterday recommended for the expulsion of Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Sulieman Dori for what it termed as gross misconduct.

It seems like the reality of Dori being expelled from the party that sponsored him to Parliament has already hit him with the Legislator moving fast to once again get to the good books of the ODM Party.

The Legislator alongside other Coastal leaders visited Raila Odinga at his Capitol Hill Office today. Dori was accompanied by other Coastal MPs  namely, Ali Mbogo (Kisauni) & Owen Baya (Kilifi North) together with Minority Whip in the National Assembly Junet Mohammed

Details of the meeting still remain scanty but if yesterday’s happenings are anything to go by, it is expected that Dori went to make peace with Raila in order to avoid the axe from ODM.

Also Present at the Capitol Hill meeting was Jubilee politician and business man Suleiman Shabal who vied for the Mombasa Gubernatorial position in the 2017 General elections but ended up loosing to Hassan Joho.

Dori and Jumwa’s pending expulsion has already faced criticism from some members of the ODM Party led by MP Millie Odhiambo.

Millie has hit out at the disciplinary committee saying it ‘has outlived its usefulness.’

The lawmaker said the committee’s recommendation for expulsion of MPs Suleiman Dori and Aisha Jumwa as well as six Homa Bay MCAs is misplaced.

The committee has outlived its usefulness to the party. The situation has just moved from bad to worse,” Millie said.

The decision to recommend the expulsion of the rebellious members of the Orange Democratic Party (ODM) has been met with lots of opposition from a section of Kenyans with some arguing that if Aisha an Dori are being expelled for working with Ruto, then Raila Odinga, the ODM party leader should also be suspended for working with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi argues that it is ironical for ODM to discipline Hon. Aisha Jumwa and Dori for supporting Ruto, the second in command in Jubilee but see nothing wrong when Raila work’s with Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ahmednasir has compared ODM to a peculiar animal farm.

“ODM doesn’t see the irony of disciplining Hon Dori & Aisha for expressing support for DP Ruto, the No 2 in Jubilee…yet it’s ok for Hon Raila ODM party leader to support the policies & politics of HE Uhuru, the No1 in Jubilee.ODM is obviously a peculiar animal farm,” said Ahmednasir.

Should ODM forgive and welcome back the now embattled members?
