Police say that one suspected was caught and beaten by the public before he was handed over to the Kiserian police. The suspect sustained injuries and was taken to Ngong Sub-county hospital where he had his head stitched.

A police source privy to the investigations yesterday said that the suspect disclosed that the young girl was raped by 15 boys who were partying in Githima village when they spotted her passing by.

The source further said that the lured her and she easily joined them because she knew some of them. The gang members then forced themselves on her one by one, before slitting her throat and drinking her blood and ate some of her body parts.

Residents of Kiserian were extremely shocked by the news with some saying that only a cult would subject an innocent child to such ordeal which is unheard of even in movies.

The girl’s mother, traumatised said that the family is unable to sleep because the gang is still roaming around free.

“My daughter underwent a lot of pain before she was killed. She had woken up to a bright day and was more playful on that Friday morning before she was kidnapped,” she said.

Police have now launched a manhunt for the accomplices and their parents whose names were revealed by the 17-year old suspect who is still in hospital as doctors took samples from him for examination.

Initially, the police had linked the murder to members of the outlawed Mungiki sect but recent investigations by the police have revealed otherwise.

Ngong Police Boss Joseph Mwika has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and not let children walk alone.

“Help us establish what’s happening with the youth in that area. They could be using drugs. Who is supplying them?” he asked, warning residents to be wary of the gang.

Do you think any normal person can commit such a heinous crime?
