Traitor!!Mike Sonko accused of backstabbing Nairobians

Was Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko lying to Nairobians? onces upon a time Governor Sonko opposed to ex- Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero when he tried to remove PSVs from town only for him to back stab people who voted him in years later.
However, the Sonko’s move has faced oppositions not only from Nairobians but also his fellow lawmakers.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has accused Mike Sonko of frustrating efforts to address Nairobi’s persistent transportation challenges claiming the governor rejected a good proposal on how to streamline the city’s transport system.

Kuria, who is the National Assembly’s Transport, Infrastructure, Public Works and Housing Committee’s vice chairperson, said Sonko was bitterly opposed to working with the Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (NAMATA).

The legislature took to  his social media account and disclosed that NAMATA had come up with a long-term solution to the transportation woes in the city, but the governor rejected the solution
Adding that,”Governor Mike Sonko remains bitterly opposed to NAMATA on the spurious grounds that it is a ploy to deny him revenue and claw back on his powers. Both claims are unfounded and not true,” said the lawmaker.

Reacting to the controversial ban of matatus from accessing Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), Kuria claimed Sonko was the biggest impediment to streamlining the greater Nairobi Metropolitan Area’s transportation. “His latest moves to adopt knee jerk measures to ‘decongest the city’ are just a smokescreen meant to divert attention from his opposition to NAMATA,” he said.

Kuria further explained that Nairobi’s transportation problems are complex as they have built up over time and they require sophiscated, comprehensive, well thought out and multi-disciplinary solutions. The last thing we need is reactionary and unilateral decisions on a matter that requires so many parties to work together.

Legislatures have reacted on the Nairobi County Government’s matatu ban in Nairobi, which left thousands of commuters stranded.

Do you think matatu CBD ban is a total fail?
