Why Rashford was described as a mad dog by Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has identified Marcus Rashford as his  ‘mad dog’ after Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw at Southampton.

Rashford was the assist king as he created both Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera’s goals that ensured the visitors erased two earlier goals by the Saints.

“I would say Marcus Rashford was a mad dog until he was – let’s say – very, very tired and with [a few] little problems. It is one kick here, one kick there, one fall here, one fall there, fatigue, lots of running, lots of movement – 75 minutes and he was done.

“With all the respect for dogs because I love them. I think they are better than many men. It doesn’t matter the system we play. (Not winning) has to do with the characteristics of the players. With all due respect, we don’t have many mad dogs that bite the ball and press all the time. We don’t have many people with that spirit. Mourinho said after the match

“He was injured, he was asking to come off. Some players with that kind of injury do not play for two weeks, but Marcus no, Marcus I am pretty sure he will be fine for the next one. It is one kick here, one kick there, one fall here, one fall there, fatigue, lots of running, lots of movement, 75 minutes and he was done.” the Portuguese manager added.

The draw is the second consecutive for Man United after Crystal Palace managed to hold them to a 0-0 one at Old Trafford.
