Alvaro Morata is expected to start up front against Fulham, despite Olivier Giroud scoring twice in Chelsea’s Europa League win over PAOK.

The Blues secured top spot in Group L with an emphatic 4-0 win over the Greek side on Thursday, assuring them a favourable draw in the knockout stages with a game to spare.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morata were also on target at Stamford Bridge in midweek as Chelsea took advantage of Yevhen Khacheridi’s early red card.

Sarri made 10 changes against PAOK from the team that lost 3-1 to Tottenham last weekend, but is expected to revert back to a similar line-up for Fulham’s visit.

When asked if the PAOK result would affect Sunday’s starting XI, the Italian said: “No. Because, in the last match, the problem was the team, not one or two players.

“So I think that if there were two different players, it would have been the same. The big problem was the team.

Sarri was then asked if Giroud’s brace improved his chances of starting, but the Blues boss said: “No, I don’t think so. I don’t think so.”

Morata scored a powerful header with his first touch in midweek and has five Premier League goals so far this season.

The Spaniard appears to have done enough to retain his position in the starting XI, although doubts over Eden Hazard’s fitness may alter Sarri’s plans.

The Belgian has been struggling with an ankle knock and sat out the clash with PAOK, but the problem is not thought to be long-term.

Ahead of the 4-0 victory, Sarri said: “Hazard is not a serious injury but he will not be able to play [against PAOK].

“I think we will be able to recover him for the game on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, Victor Moses has a back injury and Ross Barkley is in contention to replace Mateo Kovacic as the third midfielder alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
