The bandits and castle rustlers in parts of Turkana County have used their access to guns to run various attacks raising conflicts. But a relief as the main supplier of the guns was cuffed on Wednesday.

But those who think guns are toys will have to face it with the law arm of the government.

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has named new members of the Firearms Licensing Board.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, Matiang’i appointed seven members who will serve for three years, with effect from December 3.

The CS disbanded the board last Friday citing corruption and incompetence, leading to guns being in illegal hands. He also suspended all firearms dealers’ licences until they are vetted afresh.
