What a man can do, a woman can do better.Today, more and more women have ventured into professions deemed only fit for men and are doing exemplary well.
Elizabeth Marami, a 28-years old marine pilot happens to be among the many women trying to break the norm by going head to head with men. It is understood that Marami is the first ever female marine pilot who has not only been inspiring Kenyans with her brains but also beauty. To acquire her current status, she had to go through a degree course that took her five years to wrap up.
Marami then received certification from the International Maritime Organisation. Her job basically entails helping foreign ships navigate when they enter Kenyan territorial waters. Unlike most people, the lass started an initiative named Against the Tide which aims to promote gender balance in the maritime industry.
