Here is why you might not be able to use the SGR (Nairobi-Mombasa) until January

The Festive season is here and as you all know this is when the rush and scramble for vehicles gets real. Public transport users know the drill and if you don’t book earlier. You might as well forget about travelling until next year.

The hiked prices and the level of craze has began so early. A man online claimed that rumours have it that the Madaraka Express from Nairobi to Mombasa is already fully booked until  January.

Many people have been complaining that tickets are bought by travel agents who then pass them on to their clients. Some even claim that the tickets are sold to them at a higher price by random buyers.

In my curiosity I went ahead to try booking for the 20th of December. Leading to e confirming that tickets are fully booked until then. Curiosity went further I tried booking for the 28 and lucky enough the seats were still available.

The peak days are already here and if you have plans to travel you better get booking.

Although the SGR project was recently involved in ticket scandal claims; it has one of  Kenya’s convenient means of transport.

This hell that public transport users will go through during the festive season is not just in the rail transport but even the road and air.

Are you travelling this Festive season?
