Liverpool fans are gearing up for one of the most hotly anticipated European nights as they travel to Paris to take on PSG. A win would put them in a great position heading into the final gameweek whilst a defeat would put them on the brink of elimination, with Napoli on the final day.
Liverpool fans could not hide their glee as over the international break they saw both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe hobble off injured, with many fans believing that the PSG pair would be ruled out of the big game against the Reds.
However, L’Equipe have given a sneak peek into what the PSG team could look like tonight, and both star wide men are included in the starting line-up. This will come as a blow for Liverpool who would have liked things to be a lot easier tonight in a crucial Champions League encounter.
Kylian Mbappe looked sure to be ruled after landing awkwardly on his right shoulder, but he appears to have recovered just in time. The same can be said for Neymar who strained his groin slightly in a Brazil friendly.
Both players were absent at the weekend as PSG continued their perfect start to the league season, beating Toulouse 1-0 at the Parc de Princes.
In more positive news for Liverpool, Sadio Mane has been passed fit to play after suffering from illness in recent days. He will fly out with the rest of the squad this afternoon as Liverpool look to secure an all-important three points. Paris Saint Germain are in need of a win if they are to keep any hopes of making it out of the Group that consists of Napoli who are the leaders with 6 points.
Liverpool are second with the same points as the Italians but with an inferior goal difference while PSG are third on five points with Red Star Belgrade the last with a comfortable four points. All four teams are in with a chance of making it out of the group as leaders.
