Government to construct movie theaters in every county

The entertainment world is constantly growing and although some parts of the world are already far much developed, Kenya now wants to be among the countries that will stand to be counted in matters film and entertainment.

Information and communication Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru says the government will construct a movie theater in every county to tap on the rich talents in the grassroots.

This was during the 2018 Kalasha awards which was held in Nairobi Kenya over the weekend.

One of Kenyan actress stated that in the coming years everyone will want to become an actor or an actress because things are going to be great.

“We want to come out with a block buster movie that can be sold in Africa as well as in china we need to be able to build a media city where we can have sound stages and ll the infrastructure we need to ensure that we can be able to come out with the best movies ”  Joe Muchiri noted

Kalasha International Awards is an annual accolade presented by Kenya Film Commission Entries into the award ceremony are films and TV series that have been aired on Kenyan television stations.

The inaugural awards were held in 2010 and subsequent awards are held yearly at the last quarter of the year. The Awards would represent the five original branches of the Film making: Directors, Actors, Writers, Producers and Technicians.

With the announcement on the plan to establish movie theaters in every county; there is hope that this will contribute to greater achievements and propel the country towards boosting of the entertainment ad film industry.
