Some Man Utd players are ‘angry’, most ‘apathetic’ under Mourinho

Aside grom being ‘United’ together, Manchester United players ‘have grown weary’ of Jose Mourinho‘s constant ‘verbal grenades’.

Mourinho was named our early loser this weekend after United were held to a goalless draw at home by Crystal Palace.

United were somewhat fortunate to even hold on for a point, with the visitors having more shots and chances at Old Trafford.

The result leaves last season’s runners-up in seventh after 13 games, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City, and seven off the pace of fourth-placed Chelsea.

Mourinho claimed after the game that his players lacked “intensity and desire”, having previously named the four players he believes are immature.

It is that sort of ‘verbal grenade’ that the Daily Mail claim his squad ‘have grown weary of’.

United reportedly felt Mourinho had avoided a ‘player revolt’ with a recent upturn in results, but Chris Wheeler claims otherwise. He says ‘some’ of his players ‘are understood to be angry’, while ‘most were described as apathetic’ at his latest comments.

Wheeler adds that Mourinho ‘has believed for some time that he lacks the strong characters in his United squad,’ and that he ‘is a coach who wants leaders and warriors, men who will respond to criticism by going out of their way to prove him wrong.’

Which is presumably why he wants to sign Marko Arnautovic for more than £50m.
