Kenyatta said through his twitter that the Blue Economy binds us to a common destiny. “Oceans are the heart of our planet, they contain 97% of the Earth’s water, supply nearly half the oxygen we breathe, absorb over a quarter of the carbon dioxide we produce and regulate the weather and temperature”.
A film screening is being done at the Nairobi Cinema on the immense opportunities lying in the Lake and the Coastal zones of Kenya. With 80% of marine pollution originating from human activity on land, the world needs to do more to protect the livelihoods of the billions that depend on marine & coastal ecosystems.
