Vocal coast Member of Parliament for Malindi Aisha Jumwa has come out to strongly oppose those leaders who are critizing Deputy PresidentWilliam Ruto’s ambition to run for the top seat come 2022.
Ms Jumwa who was once ODM Raila Odinga’s die hard is now supporting DP Ruto’s ambition for his bid.
For the last one week now some Rift Valley leaders including Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Joshua Kutuny (Cherangany) and Silas Tiren of Moiben have openly linked Ruto to Sh2.5 billion maize scandal.
But according to MP Jumwa, the said MPs are just causing malicious politics adding that their political war against DP Ruto will not go anywhere.
The Malindi MP ws speaking on Sunday at Bomet County.
In her statement she said,”Every market has madmen. That is normal and so whatever you’re hearing from these fellows, just understand the desperation in them.
In addition she said, “For the spirit of handshake, I am here to support the DP because he’s winning the race. Don’t be scared away by those madmen please.”
DP critics are by a section of MPs in Rift Valley as others who accompanied Ms Jumwa accused the trio of being ‘goons for hire’, with some blaming Baringo senator Gideon Moi for ongoing politics in the Rift.
Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto declared his support to the DP, insisting that he will stand with him to ensure he delivers on his mandate.
“Time for politicking is over. Let us join hands and help the leadership. It’s improper to engage in endless politicking,” noted Ruto.
