Alvaro Morata has endured a difficult spell at Chelsea over the past year with glimpses of quality mixed in with some awful spells where he appears to be lacking in any sort of confidence.
The latter is certainly true for the Spanish striker at the moment with the former Real Madrid man once again proving hugely ineffective during the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Spurs at Wembley on Saturday evening.
Chelsea fans are growing increasingly impatient with the struggles of Morata with the Blues clearly lacking a cutting edge at the moment and there is one stat in particular which has caught the eye in the wake of the Wembley debacle.
Morata has been caught offside more times than the entire Bournemouth team this season in a stat which is hard for fans to get their heads around.
The 26-year-old has been pulled up a stunning 18 teams this term on his own for offside, whilst the Cherries as a team have only been whistled for 16 times which by any standards is difficult to digest.
Maurizio Sarri was clearly frustrated with his team’s display last night against Spurs and it was Morata who took the wrath of the fans on social media with his offside habit increasingly becoming an epidemic.

The Chelsea squad have enjoyed a generally positive start to the season under Sarri but there is clearly still plenty of work to be done, including bringing in a world class striker who understands the rules of offside!
