“Almost mistaken for a rejected vow,” Top TV face sheds tears at the aisle.

The most devastating thing that can ever happen to any person is someone refusing to read the vows of commitment to marriage.

It is love betrayal. More painful than anything else.

But some people shed tears to express love. To show their extent of love. Have you ever been in this situation?

K24 news anchor Ahmed Juma Bhalo tied the knot with his longtime fiance Khadija Binti Omar in a traditional wedding on Friday.

The journalist was enthusiastic about the grand day that he admitted to having waited a long time for.

Ahmed intimated that he was holding back tears when talking about the big day with his family earlier.

Nina furaha sana kama awali nilikuwa nazungumza na machozi yalitaka kutoka…si ati naskitika, kuna zile wanasema ni tears of joy.” (I am very happy, earlier I was talking and holding back tears. Not that I am sad, they were what people call tears of joy.)

He explained that to him, the wedding was in partial fulfillment of his religion’s beliefs.

Bhalo was also relieved that he would no longer entertain questions from his friends and family who had been enquiring about why he was taking so long to settle down.

Wengi walikuwa wakiuliza na wako hapa, Bhalo utaoa lini? Lakini sasa nawaambia nishaoa” (A lot of people, some who are here used to ask me when I would wed, but now I can tell them I have married.)

The Swahili presenter was cautious about introducing his newlywed to the public and intended to keep her off prying eyes.

Other than her name, Bhalo declined to have her shown on camera, thereby reinstating just how private he wished to keep the love of his life.

He thanked everyone who had supported him and asked them to continue praying for them as they made their first step into what he hoped would be a lifelong endeavour.
