Shocking reports have today revealed that Juliano Kanyonyo, the 15-year old boy from Gatitu Primary School in Murang’a county died after he was hit several times on the head with a blunt object.

The revelation was made by Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome who broke down while addressing a press conference on the killing of the young boy. According to the MP, the death of the boy was as a result of illegal gangs which have been terrorizing young men and recruiting the initiates to the gangs.

Ms. Wahome further explained how the late Juliano was killed because his mother allegedly failed to present to the gang a chicken as required and instead gave a less acceptable cock which was rejected.

The Kandara MP said that illegal gangs such as Mungiki, 42 brothers, Usiku Sacco and Gaza have been recruiting newly circumcised men in Murang’a County.

County Commander Farah Mohamed had earlier said that an autopsy conducted on Juliano at the Thika Level 5 Hospital revealed that he died from brain haemorrhage showing signs of blunt force trauma in his head that were consistent with assault.

Church leaders from the area have since condemned the incident as the family seeks justice for the late Juliano Kanyonyo who had just sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams and scored 376 marks out of the possible 500, making him the third best performer in his school.

Juliano was found dead in his room with blood oozing from his mouth while on bed rest after being circumcised.

Mr. Mohamed said that the police started the investigations and are looking for the people behind the boy’s murder.

“We have just started our investigations, we will work with the boy’s family to ensure the culprits are found,” he said.

Gatitu Primary School headteacher, Robert Muchara said that the death of his student, Kanyonyo came as a shock to him. Mr. Muchara said the boy had been a top performer and eulogized him as a bright, hardworking and disciplined pupil.

Do you think that if circumcision is done in hospitals it would reduce the rate of such crimes?
