Only one EPL player in 2018 Golden Boy Award

English Premier League will have a representative in the 2018 Golden Boy award after Liverpool right-back Trent made it into the top five contenders for the Award.

Surprisingly the 2017 winner Kylian Mbappe is currently out of the top five as things stand with Justin Kluivert (Roma), Matthijs de Ligt (Ajax), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Vinicius Jr. (Real Madrid) and Patrick Cutrone (AC Milan) leading in terms of voting.

The award is voted on by a group of 35 journalists representing several of the largest newspapers in Europe.

The Golden Boy is an award handed by sports journalists to a young footballer under the age of 21 playing in Europe perceived to have been the most impressive during a calendar year (two halves to two separate seasons).

The nominees must be playing in Europe’s top tier league. The winner is set to be decided on Monday 17th December in Turin’s iconic Mole Antonelliana.
